We came to understand that certain activities and pursuits required an African registered/based Foundation to compliment AHAF-USA, which is a USA foundation. In 2012, we took the steps to act on this need and created the African Health & Agricultural Foundation, registering it in Nigeria. AHAF-USA and AHAF (Nigeria) are sister organizations.
The aCar project, which was largely funded by the Bavarian Research Foundation and the Technical University of Munich, required that the organization it was co-funding and working with would be based in Africa. Even though it was clear that AHAF-USA was behind the effort and we had a positive relationship with TUM, they said all European based resources would be more accommodating with an African beneficiary. Prof. Chidi Osuagwu and Rev Dr. Wence Madu led the effort to create AHAF (Nigeria).
