Project - RFI (Regenerative Food Industry)

are proposing a “regenerative industry” based on large-scale cultivation and processing of  “superfood" moringa trees in Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana. This fast-growing tree is drought-tolerant, grows on degraded land, and has leaves containing high-quality protein. A vertically integrated African supply chain will produce staple items such as bread and flour, augmented with moringa leaf powder for local consumption. Cassava flour will partially replace wheat, increasing food sovereignty. The goal is to catalyze a large African market for sustainably manufactured, health-conscious, affordably priced packaged goods based on regenerative agriculture and “smallholder mass-production,” replacing a portion of existing grain production and importation. This massively scaleable system drives landscape restoration, poverty reduction, nutritional security, climate change resilience, and soil carbon sequestration.
